The United Nations World Tourism Organization's Blue Community Consortium, the Patel College of Global Sustainability at the University of South Florida and the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau are hosting a conference on Anna Maria Island Oct. 26-29 to celebrate the United Nations' International Year of Sustainable Tourism. The program will focus on the practices of sustainable tourism and encourage participants to use the lessons in development projects. The program includes presentations, discussions and experiential learning events. The conference is invitation-only.
