As part of its new Because it Matters civility initiative, the Gulf Coast Community Foundation is offering free civility training for businesses and organizations. The foundation has created a full curriculum made up of six one-hour modules with accompanying presentation slides, presenter notes and handouts for participants. To learn how to use the curriculum and gain access to the tools and resources, local employers and volunteer groups are encouraged to send a representative to a free half-day “train the trainer” workshop scheduled for 8:30 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the foundation, 601 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice.
