The National Retail Federation is predicting that American consumers will spend an average of $75 per person for a total of $14.1 billion while watching Super Bowl LI on Sunday, Feb. 5. An estimated 188.5 million Americans are expected to watch the Atlanta Falcons face the New England Patriots, down slightly from last year's 188.9 million. The spending estimate is also down slightly, from $82 per person last year and $15.5 billion total. If spending does decrease as predicted, it will be the first decline recorded since 2010.
