Virtus ETF Solutions, an affiliate of Connecticut's Virtus Investment Partners, recently partnered with Sarasota's Cumberland Advisors to introduce the Virtus Cumberland Municipal Bond ETF, which seeks to maximize total return of income and capital appreciation by investing in a basket of municipal bonds. By actively managing the portfolio, Cumberland is able to allocate across local, state and federal bonds, placing an emphasis on quality issues and the ability to favor shorter maturities should interest rates rise. Cumberland chief investment officer and portfolio manager David Kotok leads management of the exchange-traded fund with John Mousseau, the director of fixed income and portfolio manager at Cumberland.
