The City of Sarasota will celebrate the opening of Turf Field Stadium with a ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, followed by a grand opening celebration that begins at 5 p.m. The new 93,600-square-foot multi-sport artificial turf field is located at the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, 1845 34th St., Sarasota. The facility is the first Astroturf field in Sarasota. Jon F. Swift Construction served as construction manager on the almost $2.2 million project. Children and adults can play football, flag football, lacrosse, soccer, kickball, tee ball and whiffle ball there.
