Now that local primary elections are over, November candidates for the Sarasota County Commission, the Florida House and the Florida Senate will meet in a series of lunchtime debates hosted by the Sarasota Tiger Bay Club from Sept. 15 to Oct. 20. County Commission candidates Fredd Atkins, Democrat, and Mike Moran, Republican, will square off on Sept. 15; Senate candidates Greg Steube, Republican, and Frank Alcock, Democrat, will meet on Oct. 6; and House candidates Joe Gruters, Republican, and James Golden, Democrat, will debate Oct. 20. Each luncheon will take place at Michael's on East, 1212 S. East Ave., Sarasota, with registration beginning at 11:30 a.m., followed by the program at noon. Registration is $23 for members and $28 for guests.
