Neal Communities has broken ground at its newest community, The Estuary, a gated, maintenance-free enclave of 50 homes in northwest Bradenton. It is slated for completion in late spring 2017. Floor plans will range from 2,181 to 2,600 square feet.

The company also has opened an amenity center at Milano, its Tuscan-themed community in North Venice. The amenity center, shown here, has a catering kitchen, café seating area, and gathering and activity room. Outdoor features include a covered outdoor seating area and fireplace, pool and spa, bocce ball and pickleball courts, and a dog park. An activities coordinator is on-site to manage Milano’s full calendar of social events.

Solving X, x=The Intangible, an exhibit of works by architect Guy Peterson, is on view now at the Center for Architecture Sarasota, 265 S. Orange Ave. in downtown Sarasota. Peterson will give a lecture on his work at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 15; tickets are $15 and can be purchased at cfasrq.org. The exhibit remains on display through Sept. 28.

Another residential project is slated for the booming Rosemary District in downtown Sarasota, according to one of its architects, Michael Halflants of Halflants + Pichette Studio for Modern Architecture. Zahrada will encompass six large, three-story townhouses over retail on a site across the street from the Blue Rooster on Fourth Street. Each four-bedroom townhouse will have its own two-car garage on the alley and its own private elevated landscaped courtyard with a plunge pool and outdoor kitchen.  Each unit also will have a detached guest suite on one end of its courtyard. Both the retail spaces and the living rooms will have 13-foot ceilings. The owner is from Prague, Halflants says; Zahrada means “garden” in Czech.
