Designed by Thomas Reed Martin in 1930, the Municipal Auditorium is a classic example of streamlined Art Deco modern architecture, with sleek Bauhaus-style design elements and barrel vaulted ceilings inside. Situated on the crest of a small hill along U.S. 41, it’s a familiar and beloved sight to passers-by and an important part of Sarasota’s architectural legacy.
