Norm Gollub, Sarasota's downtown economic development coordinator, is leaving that position, having accepted a new job as the executive director of the Foss Waterway Development Authority in Tacoma, Washington. The authority is the coordinating agency for waterfront development there.
The coordinator position is jointly funded by the City of Sarasota, the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Improvement District. Gollub was hired in 2013; no replacements have been discussed. His final day will be Friday, May 20.
"While I am excited about starting this new role for Tacoma, I am also saddened to be leaving my friends and colleagues here in Sarasota," Gollub writes to 941CEO in an email. "I can truly say that it has been a very positive working experience here."
