The Sarasota Architectural Foundation presents a self-guided tour of five fabulous midcentury modern homes in Venice on Dec. 11. Architecture in the Public Realm is the theme of Center for Architecture Sarasota’s newest exhibit opening Jan. 12 in the McCullough Pavilion at 265 S. Orange Ave. in downtown Sarasota. An exhibit of local architects’ work, this program recognizes and celebrates the impact architecture makes in our experience of our public space. The exhibit will run through March 10 in the CFAS gallery, which is open to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. Events planned during the exhibit include an opening night reception and weekly Gallery Talks with participating architects. The Ringling Museum has resumed its guided bayfront garden tours for the season; the 90-minute walking tour of the museum’s “living collections” will introduce you to the many interesting botanical specimens on the 66-acre bayfront campus.
