The late, great Marcella Hazan's three-ingredient tomato sauce—made from just tomatoes, butter and onions—is one of the most beloved recipes in the modern culinary canon, and one that exemplifies her thoughtful, straightforward cooking style: use simple, good-quality ingredients to create amazing flavors.

Now her son, Giuliano—a celebrated chef and cookbook author in his own right—is making it his mission to get that famous sauce to the masses, and the first jars have hit the shelves at Raj and Nita Mathur's Casa Italia. Made from just those same three ingredients, the sauce is made in small batches using imported D.O.P. San Marzano tomatoes.

"It seems only fitting that Casa Italia, which I've had a relationship with for 20 years, is the first place to carry my sauce," Hazan said in a release. The store also carries Hazan's cookbooks and imported olive oils and vinegars.
