Sarasota was ranked No. 15  on Condé Nast Traveler’s list of The Best Small Cities in the U.S. The rank is based on the publication’s Readers’ Choice Awards survey, where over 100,000 readers submitted their favorite U.S. city. Due to an excess of feedback, the website divided the list into large and small cities (those with populations under 150,000).

Conde Nast Traveler credits Sarasota’s popularity to its “technicolor sunsets and thatched-roof daiquiri bars,” as well as the, “growing farm-to-table movement, soft beaches, and culture.” The article cites the Ringling Museum, Sarasota Opera House and Lido and Siesta Key beaches as some of the city’s most desirable attractions.
