Olive all’ascolana is an appetizer so delectable you probably won’t want to share it with tablemates at Made in Italy, so order more than one dish ($7.95). More familiar on menus and as street food in the central region of Marche, Italy, than in most Florida eateries, this toothsome concoction is made by stuffing Italian green olives with a ground meat, cheese and egg mixture, then breading the ball and deep frying it. Made in Italy serves these delicious two-bite balls six to a plate, along with a side dish of warm marinara sauce. Either cut the crispy-coated ball in half and splash it with some marinara and eat with a fork or take a whole ball, dip it in the sauce and dispatch it in one or two bites. Heavenly with a glass of red wine or a cocktail. Be warned: You cannot eat just one.

Made in Italy, 117 W. Venice Ave., Venice, (941) 488-8282.
