A newly constructed waterfront home at 3466 Gulfmead Drive on the northern end of Siesta Key sold for $7.07 million, making it the largest residential sale in Sarasota County in just over a year. Michael Hays with the Siesta Key office of Michael Saunders and Company was the listing agent, while Mackenzie Mudgett of the firm’s Main Street office represented the buyers. The property spent just 201 days on the market before being placed under contract.

Designed in an Old Florida/ West Indies style, the home’s interior includes 7,132-square-feet of air conditioned space with a gourmet kitchen and a master bedroom suite on each level. The property also features 4,000-square-feet of outdoor space and covered terraces.

Downtown Sarasota’s Kane Plaza, an 88,178-square-foot commercial and condo space located at 1 S. School Ave., has sold for $11.5 million. Court records show that Y Associates Ltd. sold the office tower to Sarasota Sun Center, LLC. The building was developed 14 years ago by David S. Band and Stanley Kane when Y Associates purchased the land for $500,000. It is currently about 20 percent vacant with spaces ranging from 2,500-square-feet to 11,340-square-feet.
