Good News Friday: Big Deals - February 14, 2014

Benderson Development of Sarasota is expanding to the north in what is being touted as a market revival in Worcester, Mass. The privately held commercial real estate firm recently purchased a 214,000-square-foot building in the city for $76 million. The company owns and manages more than 700 properties in 38 states, with a portfolio that includes retail, office, industrial, hotel, residential and land holdings.

 


 

DM Constructors, LLC of Sarasota has been chosen as the construction manager to build a 37,541-square-foot memory care assisted living facility in Boca Raton. The multimillion dollar contract is for a two-story masonry structure with 64 rooms, full commercial kitchen, and dining and laundry services. Construction is set to begin in March and expected to be completed within 365 days.

 


 

Prime Lending, a PlainsCapital company, leased 1,905 square feet at Sarasota City Center, 1819 Main St. Lori Hellstrom represents Osprey Real Estate in all transactions for Sarasota City Center. Ryan Reynolds from Cassidy Turley represented the tenant.

 


 

Old Republic National Title Insurance Company renewed its lease for 4,639 square feet at Cattleridge Financial Center, 6000 Cattleridge Blvd. in Sarasota. The transaction was handled by Lori Hellstrom, who represents Osprey Real Estate in all dealings at the Cattleridge Financial Center, and Jill Arias from DTZ, a UGL Company, who represented the tenant.
