While pastels will never fade from the beach fashion scene, designers are gravitating toward a bold, warm palette and clean, sophisticated silhouette. Vivid citrus and spice hues recalling Gulf Coast sunsets resonate in clothes, gemstones and home décor. The new beach chic is at once effortlessly glamorous and relaxed and often playfully retro, too—in perfect keeping with the Sarasota lifestyle.

Haute couture hit the tropics when hip London-based fashion designer Matthew Williamson applied his panache for bold prints to a new line for British wallpaper and fabric superstar Osborne & Little.
