Sarasota-based Studio South Fitness has opened registration for its second Corporate Fitness Challenge to benefit United Cerebral Palsy Sarasota-Manatee. The six-week fitness, nutrition and training regime promotes teambuilding and works to enhance individual physical abilities. Registration, available here, is open until March 15, and the program kicks off on March 31.

 


 

Sarasota County libraries and Tax-Aide volunteers from the American Association of Retired Persons are offering free assistance with the preparation of 2013 tax returns through April 15. More information, including locations and schedules, is available here.

 


 

Visible Men Academy is hosting a “Black History Celebration of Veterans” at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Feb. 1, part of the Legacy of Valor campaign. The community program and flagpole dedication ceremony are presented in partnership with the Family Heritage House Museum. Visible Men Academy is located at 921 63rd Ave. E., Bradenton.

 


 

Community Youth Development has received a $500 grant from the MSC Foundation, the charitable branch of Michael Saunders & Company. The grant will be used to support the STAR Leadership Training Program for high school students.
