Publix Super Market Charities has donated $30,000 to Manatee County Habitat for Humanity for the construction of a home in the Ellenton Hope Landing community. Hope Landing will eventually house 18 Habitat families.

 


 

Sarasota and Manatee employees of First Federal Bank of Florida donated $1,458 to local agencies in 2013. After a match from the bank, donations totaled $2,916 for the Boys & Girls Club of Sarasota, Child Protection Center of Sarasota and the Sarasota United Way. Bank-wide, First Federal contributed nearly $66,500 in 2013.

 


 

MetLife has awarded a Volunteer Ventures grant of $1,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast. The grant was proposed by Brad Ohmes, a MetLife employee who has volunteered with the organization for three years.

 


 

The St. Boniface Episcopal Church Foundation for Outreach Grants Committee and Vestry on Siesta Key has donated $4,000 to All Faiths Food Bank. The funds will help provide food to 195 area pantries, soup kitchens, churches, community centers and programs.
