New Balance Sarasota and University Park recently donated 120 pairs of New Balance shoes, valued at $6,000, to Girls Inc. Sarasota’s annual Santa’s Helpers program, which provides three presents for each girl whose family receives financial assistance to attend the Girls Inc. programs. Santa’s Helpers is also funded in part by the Community Foundation of Sarasota’s “Helping Families Excel” fund.

New Balance Sarasota and University Park also sponsor the Girls Inc. Sarasota’s Girls on the Run program, which provides girls in third to fifth grades with a 12-week training program and personal development curriculum while training for a 5K race each fall and spring.

 


 

The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (CWC-FPRA) gathered donations for Sunnyside Village during its annual holiday mixer on Dec. 16 at Michael’s Wine Cellar. Members donated personal items, bears, blankets and puzzles for Sunnyside’s 60 nursing care residents to brighten their holidays.

 


Boar’s Head Brand recently partnered with the Salvation Army of Sarasota to collect donations for the Angel Tree Program, which matches donors with children from families unable to provide gifts and clothing to their children. Boar’s Head Brand employees collected holiday gifts for more than 70 children in the area; donations included more than 50 bicycles and accessories.

 


 

RoseBay International Inc. is participating in three charitable programs this holiday season. The real estate brokerage with offices in Bradenton and Sarasota is currently collecting toys for Toys for Tots and food for Mayors’ Feed the Hungry campaign, as well as participating in the Salvation Army’s Fill-A-Stocking Christmas project to benefit needy seniors and children.

 


 

Coastal Orthopedics is donating gifts to children in need in Manatee County through the Adopt-A-Family of Manatee Inc. program. Last year Coastal Orthopedics adopted seven children, providing them with gifts ranging from clothing to electronics. This year Coastal Orthopedic adopted two families with a total of 10 children, ages 9 months to 14 years.

 


Comfort Keepers, which provides home care for seniors, is hosting a "Stop Senior Hunger" food and fund drive on behalf of All Faiths Food Bank. The drive is expected to provide meals for more than 2,400 people; each week, All Faiths provides approximately 10,000 meals at eight senior housing communities and to seniors at local food distribution sites.
