Jess Jewelers is preparing for a grand opening at its new location, 1312 Sixth Ave. W., Bradenton, in the historic Welsh-Kirk building. Tom Jess, the jewelry store’s owner, purchased and renovated the building, taking care to maintain the history and original design of the building—including the iconic red brick walls. The new location opened in July, but a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration is scheduled for 4 p.m. next Friday, Oct. 25.

Jess Jewelers originally opened in 1989 and was previously located at the Financial Center, also in downtown Bradenton. The Welsh-Kirk building was built in 1926. Jess Jewelers occupies 3,000 square feet, and the building has two additional storefronts available for lease. The renovation focused on natural light, energy efficiency and comfort for the shopper.
