For the first three quarters of 2013, Sperry Van Ness Commercial Advisory Group, a commercial real estate brokerage with offices in downtown Sarasota and downtown Bradenton, has ranked No. 8 in total volume out of 175 Sperry Van Ness (SVN) offices in the country.
Three of the local firm’s advisors, Diane Lawson, CCIM, Mike Migone, CCIM, and Gail Bowden, are ranked in the top 20 in the state and the top 100 of the company’s agents nationwide. Bowden is also the only woman on the list of the top 25 SVN agents in the country. “These three do a great job completing very complex commercial real estate transactions throughout the state,” says Tony Veldkamp, CCIM, the managing director of the Commercial Advisory Group, in a press release.
Jewish Family & Children’s Services has received a $1.8 million grant from the Louis & Gloria Flanzer Philanthropic Trust to purchase the building at 1753 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota, and renovate the 7,643-square-foot interior. The organization will offer counseling, education, social services and community outreach programs at the new facility, which will be named the Gloria & Louis Flanzer Campus. Renovations will begin later this fall, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for January.
Northgate Commercial Center, LLC has purchased a 1,470-square-foot industrial condominium unit in the Northgate Commercial Center, 1767 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., from Leslaw Srodek for $900,000. The property was previously sold for $1.2 million in January 2005.
Earlier this year, we reported that Bonita Springs-based WCI Communities purchased the 2,400-acre Sarasota National golf course community. Recently, Sarasota area realtors attended a luncheon introducing the community’s new home designs, models and amenities. Home designs, starting at $205,900, range from 1,593 to more than 2,300 square feet. The community is approved for 1,584 homes; about 30 had been completed when WCI purchased the property.
