 Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium: Wild Kratts: Ocean Adventure!

Jan. 30-June 6

Bring the kids to Mote for this interactive learning experience that allows them to crawl through an anemone, hunt for lunch like a lobster, create their own dolphin name and more. Created by the Minneapolis Children’s Museum in collaboration with the Kratt Brothers Company, it’s included in the general admission price. Find out more at mote.org.

The Bishop Museum of Science & Nature: Badlands to Bradenton: Lessons from the Field

Jan. 28-June 6

Did you know that Manatee County teachers have been exploring the badlands of Nebraska on paleontological excavations during their summers off? They have, and visitors to the Bishop can see some of their uncovered fossil finds in this new exhibit, including views of extinct mammals, early camels and oreodonts—herbivores of a range of sizes. Sarasota Ballet: Company B and Brandenburgs

Jan. 29-Feb. 2

The company continues with its digital programming season, streaming full ballets of these Paul Taylor works, the first choreographed to selections from Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos, the second mixing upbeat Andrews Sisters songs with the harsher realities of World War II. Sarasota Orchestra: Serioso

Jan. 28-31

Beethoven’s String Quartet in F Minor, Arcangelo Corelli’s Concerto Grosso, No. 12, and groundbreaking African-American composer George Walker’s Lyric for Strings are all on the program for four concerts at the orchestra’s Holley Hall. To see if tickets remain, visit sarasotaorchestra.org.

Sarasota Contemporary Dance: Dance Makers

Jan. 29-31

Postponed from a week ago and now taking place in a live broadcast, rather than in person, this SCD offering still presents works by choreographers Matt Reeves and Colette Krogol of Orange Grove Dance, an expansion of “I live under your skin” by Douglas Gillespie, and a new collaborative duet featuring musician-composer Mark Dancigers and artistic director Leymis Bolaños Wilmott. Key Chorale: Bach Together: Bach & Vivaldi

Choral Artists of Sarasota: Marching to Freedom

Feb. 3

Another choral ensemble concert, this one outdoors at 5 p.m. at Historic Spanish Point and dedicated to music touching on the long struggle for civil rights for African-Americans. Through gospel music and art songs composed by Black Americans, audiences will take a journey through history from slavery to today. Florida Studio Theatre: Winter Online Play Reading Series

FST presents professional actors performing five new plays in progress, and a chance to engage with the playwrights after each reading.
