JFCS of the Suncoast recently appointed Rabbi Jonathan Katz as its new community chaplain. In the role, Katz will lead the Jewish Healing Program at JFCS, as well as serving on the organization's executive leadership team. Katz will also facilitate visitation programs for unaffiliated Jews at local hospitals, assisted living facilities and nursing homes, direct JFCS’s bereavement support groups and more. JFCS is a family agency serving residents of Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, DeSoto, Lee and Collier counties. The nonprofit's new position was made possible by a grant from The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee.
