Sarasota Charitable Register
Don't leave charity behind with the holidays. Give your money or your time, but give. Click here to find out how.

In this season-and especially in this year-we're keenly aware of how fortunate we are to live in a community with such a spirit of caring and compassion. Sarasota is known far and wide for its generous support of those in need, and for the quantity-and quality-of its charitable organizations. These groups offer help and support in many different ways, from educating our children and enriching us culturally to improving the quality of life for those who are financially, physically or mentally disadvantaged.

Some of our charities are nationally acclaimed, while others perform their heroic feats far from the limelight. Most have small but incredibly dedicated staffs, and nearly all count on volunteers to help them fulfill their noble missions. Many also add to the social life of our community through special events that raise funds-and fun-for their causes.

To help bring all these groups the attention and support they deserve, we've compiled the following register. We have included more than 100 charities in this listing. Each one accepts financial donations, and many need your time and talent as well. The listings include information about each group's mission, needs and major fundraising events.

We give heartfelt thanks to them all for improving our lives and our city, and we hope you'll agree that there's no better way to celebrate the season than by giving these selfless organizations our support.
